Other Initiatives

Here are the below few initiatives which has been taken till 2021 that makes our Capgemini campuses more sustainable.

All our own campuses are having Solar plant installed in the campus. Total portfolio - 6.5MWp captive solar plant across India Campuses. Solar power has less emission and environmental impact also less than the grid electricity.
Increase of green power utilization by increasing the offsite green energy procurement in Bangalore campus thus improving from 85 % green energy utilization to 95 % green energy utilization.
Membrane bio reactor sewage treatment plant installed & commissioned in Chennai SIPCOT campus to treat the sewage & reuse the water effectively.
Rain water harvesting pits – 2numbers created in Bangalore campus.
Borewell of 1250 ft dug in Bangalore campus thus reducing external tanker water.
Dual state Electricity feeder implemented to reduce Diesel consumption in Bangalore EPIP campus reducing 70KL of diesel and 60T carbon P.A.
Air Handling Units (AHUs) replaced with energy efficient EC plug fan AHUs saving 10 % of energy consumed in Noida campus.
Converted 2 numbers of Diesel operated generators to natural gas generators in Noida campus.
The Energy and Transport services teams came together and launched the Electric cars for few cities, NOIDA is Capgemini India’s first to bring 100% non-conventional fuel running cabs with zero carbon emission.
Replacing plastic bottles with glass or metal bottles (Currently we are not purchasing any type is 1ltr-500ml water bottles for any types of meetings). India Capgemini has distributed steel water bottles to all the employees to replace plastic water bottles in campuses.
To reduce the impact on our environment we have OWC and bio-gas plant installed to handle the food waste for all campuses.
To handle our Dry waste we have our partner vendor who comes and collect the dry waste from the campuses and recycled those waste.
The carpool program was launched to reduce the CO2 being released to the environment and reduce consumption of precious fossil fuels.
